MonteSS
Trying to tune some 110's. Using #6 KVD triples. Any hooks lighter in weight? Megabass Katsuage are like $1 each and not sure they are lighter. Anyone have a list of hooks and their weight> Ty Edited February 22, 2017 by MonteSS
MonteSS
So I used really small split rings and it suspends in 65* but very nose down. Three #6 KVD. This is a 110 + 1 Predator blank.
SW Lures
Monte I was trying to think of some thin wire hooks. Not sure what advice to give you on this one. Dale
clemmy
Not cheap, but you could try the Grammy Nano Finesse.. You didn't say which KVDs you were using. The 2x short should be lighter. There's a lot of JDM finesse trebles but then you're back into some more money.
socal cranker
FINA Aero treble. Expensive sure, but they are killer finesse trebles. Love the design. I use them on finesse cranks too.
Super Ron
It's not the 110+1 but I've done some testing on the slow rise 110 from Predator. My thinking was to let the bait suspend or slow rise while in a level position. Best I could come up with is this: Split rings are from predator I have no idea how the compare to any other company So, the line tie gets a 6 mm, front and mid hangers get a 5 mm, and the rear gets both a 5 and 6 mm Hooks used were VMC barbarian outbarbs. #6 for the front and mid. A #4 for the rear that has lead on the shank with a piece of shrink tubing (Thanks Jim). With paint and 2 coats of Etex, it sits level. However: I have found level to also be a product of the position of the ball bearings in the weight transfer system. On the cast the ball bearings slam to the rear. With them in that position, the initial setting in the water 8 times out of 10 is with a tail down attitude. After the initial twitch/jerk the ball bearings move forward and then the bait levels out.
mark poulson
I just got four 110+ from Predator. I put (3) #4 KVD EWG short shank trebles with 2mm split rings, and it floats. I haven't painted it yet, but, if I use a light clear coat, I'm sure it will at least suspend, and I can use line choice, mono or fluoro, to make it float, suspend, or sink. Musky Glenn
MonteSS, sometimes the obvious is not out of the question, try #8 trebles. We troll live minnows on three way swivels with the minnow on a # fourteen treble and they don't have any trouble with the smallmouths. Just an idea. clemmy
Another option might be to actually upsize, but go to two trebles...
clemmy
I remembered this thread I had posted some info in. Some of it is larger trebles though. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/31494-hook-weights/#comment-255925 Clemmy
sonoman
Aaron Martens trebles from gamakatsu are lighter and much sharper as well.
