Could be air in your plastisol.

Try warming up your mold first. That may help. The more baits I pour the less dents I get.

Yea that was the 2 problems I had air in the plastisol and I started preheating the mold and problems went away. I did buy better plastisol also.

Mainly swimbaits, creature baits, big hammers. Whatever i can copy! I mainly do a lot of saltwater fishing for striper and rockfish here on the west coast.

That's what I do I live in Monterey area by moss landing. And I mainly fish for rock cod and halibut. But as for the mold I think it depends on the silicon you get. I know areomarine and raw materials has good silicone.

A good silicone mold can last for dozens to hundreds of pours if you take care of it.  Tin based do not last as long as the platinum based silicones do.  Tin based seem to suffer as much from setting on the shelf as they do being poured.

For the most part, I keep a good master to make a new mold with and don't worry about it, but if you get silicone oil and rub the mold after you are done molding each day it will last a long time.

I have some Tin based that are over 10 years old now and are in excellent condition, but I am changing my design so they don't get the use they once did.

How many pours and how long of a life do you need?  That will answer your question.

So i shouldn't worry about the lifespan of a good silicon mold?

Get a silicon that can withstand 350+ that will help also  moldstar 30 or 15 are good also. The silicon from micheals is good also and durable but they only come in 3/4 of a pound. You would need to buy atleast 2 or 3 jars, to make a good 3-4 cavity mold depending on the size of the lure. That will get you started to have fun and experiment. I use that for my prototypes. You can get a 40% coupon and get it for about 15 bucks at Micheals. And I use raw materials silicon for my main mold. I just poured a mold today for a 15x7x2 with 8 cavity 5in lures and it took 5 pounds of silicon.
