GB GONE
Or do you know where to buy that type of cnc mold? I have found most anglers in the beginner to moderate range really like the hook slot on the senko type bait as it is easier to rig. Personally, I think the bait rips to easy with the slot but hey, whatever... Jim
BigZ
Any feature that "ruins" the natural appearance of the lure should be eliminated. The only thing I have found the hook slots good for is collecting moss. If you use good quality hooks (SHARP...OWNERS!), you should have no problem setting the hook on a senko. I got 7 dinks today ?oz mojo rigging a 5" senko type bait (BTS of course), I think I actually had to set the hook on one. Most of the fish try to commit suicide on those baits. I am certain that either Del W. or Bob Jones would happily accomodate you by leaving a small "island" in the mold for your hook slot if that is what you want. Personally, I think if you are going to fish a round bait it should be round. One problem I could see with having the slot is having an obstacle in the mold when pouring, I am sure it wouldn't leave huge voids, but it might cause some streaking and lines in the baits surface. GB GONE
the folks "selling" the hook-slotted stick baits are all using injection not hand pour. Makes a big difference!!!! Jim
Fish_N_Fool
I have a hook slot in my baits. It is not a senko copy though. IT's better LOL
james bradshaw
who needs a hook slot I just skin hook my stick worms, in the side of the worm. unless I'm dropshotting. you will most likely miss alot of fish hooking it in the center of the bait, that has been my experience. I think a hook slot would be more hassel than it would be worth.
