Soft plastic starter kit for greenhorn

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. So I'm debating on which starter kit to get for soft plastic baits. I've looked at the Allumilite and LurePartsObline starter kits. They're both about the same and each one has its pros smd cons I see.

Also, for the LPO kit...it shows 4 colors. I looked them up but I am not sure which Chartreuse they are referring to.

im leaning towards more on the LPO kit as it comes with the injector and I like the colors it comes with. Plus I've read the plastic is good. What do yall recommend?

The LPO kit with an Essential series mold. Also order a thermometer and gloves.

Then go to Walmart and buy a cheap (low power) microwave and a couple Pyrex cups.

Then go to a big box home improvement store and get a 3M respiratory, Safety glasses and a box fan for ventilation.

Read ALL the safety posts (Don'ts for Newbies)

And watch some of the great beginner videos on YouTube

And then you are ready to start!

The Alumilite kit looks like a great starter kit, and I wish I had seen it prior to buying a bunch of stuff separately. With that said once you buy it once your best to buy items separately from then on, the silicone provided is great but there is only 1lb and it does not go far.

Im on my this purchase of silicone and moved over to Smooth-On as they provide nearly 3lbs for the same price as Alumilites silicone (in my area at at-least)
