Masterschampion
Long Term Storage of plastic's. I did a search but could not find anything on long term preservation of plastics. I have thousands of plastics for Bass fishing and was wondering what is the best way to store them or how do you store your plastics. As a photographer I used to put Film in the freezer. I was thinking that this would be one of the best ways to store plastic lures as well. What about the different compositions of plastics would different storage methods cause them to disintegrate? Anyone have suggestions for storing with scents, oils, or plastic preservers which may keep the plastic supple?
Driftwood
I store them in a plastic storage bin until sold. Not long term by any means but works short term.

BHLures
Vacuum pack em like a bag of fillets would be best I suppose. And keep out of extreme elements. I have culprit worms I bought a lifetime ago and still perfect. 20 years in a closet and like new.
Anglinarcher
????? I have thousands of plastics I fish with, stored in Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas satchels and they have lasted me for at least a dozen years. Before that they were store in Plano boxes or tubs. I have plastics that go back at least to the late 70's and they are all in good shape. Most are stored in zip locks, then in the plastic sleeves of the satchels, which protect them from sun. Is there really an issue with storing soft plastic fishing lures?????
