The Dutchman
Which one to use?
cadman
I use Mason Brand Nylostrand Leader Wire Clear in 90 lb test which measures (.036 Dia.) I do not like heavy weedguards on any of the jigs I personally fish. After trying several brands, I settled for the one above, as I like it the best. I use the 90 lb test for almost all applications. I also have 60 lb (.032 Dia.) and 45 lb which is (.028 Dia.) The smaller diameters, I use for 1/8 oz jigs. I bought all my spools from Lure Parts on Line. See pic attached. Walking Dead
You pour the lead with these inserted?
EironBreaker
Yes, you can pour directly into the lead. I've bought directly from Mason. I think it is a little cheaper but it is a big spool. Just depends on how much you need.

Yes, I pour the lead with these inserted as well. The coating melts where the lead is but it does not melt the coating on top of the jig. As menti9oned above, if you put a little bend in the bottom of the cut strand, it will never pull out once you pour the head with lead.
