K&M
Guys, can you tell me if you put worm oil in the bags when packaging new baits? If so, what is the best way and how much? I am not talking about scents, just an oil to keep them from sticking? Thanks in advance for any advice.
Frank
I use a small spray bottle and give the plastic a couple of sprits and bag. They get real slippery doing them first then packaging but the end result is easier to achieve. I don't put it in the bag at all.
alsworms
I shook them around in popcorn salt.

alsworms
I thought a pretty good rule was...... Attract fishermen: Oil Attract fish: Salt

Unless the salt is cooked in the plastic which is an entirely different discussion all together!

I meant first site only. If you want to show off your colors, worm oil is the way to go because it will really make the baits shine, whereas salt will sometimes hide them. If I made baits for myself, it was salt all the time.
FrogAddict
I know this thread is old but I've been struggling with the salt vs. worm oil situation. I prefer salt for packaging but I'm guessing my customers won't like how the salt dulls the color. When I do use worm oil, I put the lures in a small plastic container, drop some oil in, close the container and shake. I do the same when applying salt. rynesgto
I quit using oil in my bags, started using fine salt and it's perfect. Keeps baits from sticking. I filled a sour cream container with salt, before I bag I toss a few baits in the salt. then bag them all, works perfect.
ryanwood99
I use both. The salt seems to make them last longer and keep their shape better
FrogAddict
Update: I gave up on worm oil and just use salt. It's just easier. I do the same as rynesgto, I put some in a small sour cream container, drop in the baits, close the top, shake it and bag em.
