mark poulson
I've done a search, but came up empty. Wasn't there a video on how to make these?

jcool3
I have made centering pin corkscrews using just a straight fly tying bobbin fitted with a roll pin. The roll pin is fitted over the bobbin tube and extends out about 1/8". Insert your wire and start twisting, simple .... the bobbin provides a convenient handle to turn. No tooling necessary, I can crank out corkscrews in about a minute. I have found 2 different diameters of fly bobbins - midge and regular, so I can make 2 sizes of corkscrews. Which wire do you use?

I use sevenstrand magnum single strand stainless steel wire from .022" to .024, depending on size of soft plastic. Usually .022 will work for most. My setup You can pull on corkscrewed wire to adjust spacing . Also I trim end at an angle to get sharp point for easy penetration.
