Best products/process to paint woodmlures

My son and I are going take up making lures as a hobby. No selling just making and using. We are going to make them out of wood. What are the products and processes to paint and seal them?

If you're just starting out, I recommend using PVC trimboard as your bait making material.

For the search feature, look for activity at the top right of the screen when you scroll all the way to the top.  Hover over activity and a pop up screen will come up.  Go to search at the bottom.

I probably never would have continued making lures if PVC was what I started with......

 It's just the opposite for me.  I spent a lot of time trying to get my jointed wooden baits sealed.  Finally, another TU member, John Hopkins, suggested I try AZEK PVC decking and trimboard, and now the only wooden baits I make are small cranks from balsa.

If I had started with PVC I would have saved a lot of headaches.
