jigger
New guy here, what is the process for using actual colors to color plastisol. Do the colors have to be melted separately?
mark poulson
I use the colorants and glitter sold by Bait Junky, and mix them into my plastisol once it's been heated to 350 to get it to kick over into the usable state. Glitter first, then the colorant, drop by drop. That way, I can see how the glitter affects the actual color of the plastic as I add the colorant. I tried crayons and candle wax colorants, and they were too much trouble. They were also uneven and slow, and too hard to get consistent coloring batch after batch. Anglinarcher
Agree, no hard colorants, all liquid. I do mine a little different then Mark, but fluorescents must be added after it turns or they never work for me.
