Painter1
Search turned up crickets so I am asking here. Any experience with the DO-IT Poison Swingtail Jig mold?

Painter1
Just looking for information on how you like it. Is the connection between the hook and the head strong enough for large bass in cover?
Walking Dead
Yes it is strong enough. Makes a great blade jig and a SB with mod to the mold.
DaBehr
I've landed some nice bass with no issues. But unfortunately nothing "big". But I did land two big Northern Pike ( a 36" and a 39") on it this fall with no issues! Probably the best test was a personal best Sheepshead (Drum) that went a shade over 9lbs. Those darn things can really fight! I have no worries that the connection is not strong enough!
walleyeking
I have it and it pours great. The wire inserts are pretty heavy so ide think they'd work fine for most anything.
psilvers
There was a video on Youtube (by Skimpy, I think) and the inserts only straightened out after 38 lbs or so of pull. I don't remember whether they were the large insert or the small insert - I am not sure the wire gauge is the same. I have the inserts, I can check. Painter1
I bought the mold and made up a batch to try on an upcoming trip to El Salto. I really like the KVD Mustad hook that keeps the head of a worm in place with a hard plastic nodule at the bend and will be using these in size 6/0 with 10” and 12” worms. It seems like a great combination and hope it performs as well as expected.

Eol2014
I have this jig and runs fine with swimbait trailer.....problem is when I tied a living rubber skirt to it then the bait ran on its side and a lot of the action seemed to die. I only used ~ 3in length and 3 pieces. Skirt is centered and "balanced" but has to be the issue.....so back to drawing board and testing for me......Anyone have other suggestions? dchance
my question is, why would this head be better than the football shaped original swing jigs? Isn't that one of the better traits, to create more bottom contact thus more action?
EironBreaker
It would come through grass or wood cover better then a FB swing head. And it looks cool! It sells quit well with a skirt and sweet beaver rigged on the hook.
Painter1
I think the big advantage is being able to add virtually any hook and it can be used to swim a bait with extra action.
Lunkerlunchbaits
Only issue I have had with it is the hook sometimes gets flipped up and stuck where you crimp the wire form closed. So on retrieval my hook and trailer is on top of lure upside down! This was on a balded skirted version I made with twin tail grub! skirt is trimmed even with hook eye Edited March 2, 2018 by Lunkerlunchbaits spelling
