thogan6
anyone know what type of glue you can use to glue balsa planks together temporairly so they are easier to cut out? i saw a video a while ago but i cant find it and in the video after he cut blanks out he used a hair dryer to heat the blank and it came apart instantly! thanks Todd Hogan
hazmail
Hi Todd--I haven't made a balsa lure for years BUT I have made many 2 piece lures out of harder timbers here-- You just use ''double sided tape'' and press the 2 parts together, don't tape the whole piece just use a few small tabs here and there and then you will be able to prize them apart easily (heating it just makes it easier), the tape will just roll off when you have them separated. Nathan
Elmer’s Rubber cement will work too..use it all the time to try different diving bills in Baits before permanently gluing them in..Nathan
aulrich
A very thin strip of hot melt at either end, as thin as you can get it to flow.
