Fishermanbt
I will be getting a gallon of regular mf plastisol for Christmas. Never used it before so I’m wondering how it will behave with my setup using a microwave. Over the years I’ve used do-it’s plastic with good results. Am I good to go with the age old initial 350 degree mark and 320ish there after, or am I in for some headaches? i contacted mf manufacturing but I suspect that they are busy filling orders right now. Thanks
bryanmc
You should be fine with those numbers. MF is all I use these days.
DaBehr
I often use MF...especially the new Easy Float Bounce and I take it to 350 to start. http://www.pouryourownworms.com/BOUNCE-SuperFloat-Gallons-BOUNCE-Gallons.htm I love that plastic and it really does FLOAT ! I use it for my drop shot, Shaky and Midwest Finese baits. Edited December 21, 2017 by DaBehr

Fishermanbt
Thanks for the info. I also received a follow email from the company that provided me some guidance. I do love me some good customer service.
DaBehr
I really don't know if it is as durable as another plastic. All I can attest to is that so far...it is good enough ...for the baits I use it for. That being said, I molded all my new Basstackle swimbaits in Do-it Essential. That stuff is tough! I doubt the is a plastic that works best for all applications. The MF bounce does float like a cork!

FrogAddict
I used their bounce plastic and poured some Caney Creek frogs. They didn't float a heavy gauge 4/0 EWG hook but they had a super slow sink that I think will drive the bass crazy. The guys at MF told me to let the plastic "set up" to get the ultimate floating characteristics. It still didn't float the heavy gauge EWG hook but it was darn close.

mark poulson
My youngest saw the subject line of this thread, and read it through social media eyes. I had to explain to her that MF is a brand of plastisol.
Fishermanbt
Yep, I can see the confusion there now. Well played. Man I’m getting old. Just hope I’m not using the social media version once I get started.

FrogAddict
And if you buy in bulk, its very competitively priced. I'm a fan. Mark, that's hilarious.

Frank, Sorry for the delayed response here but I'm talking about MF super soft. If you buy the 5 gallon size, it comes out to $28 per gallon. SpoonMinnow
That is a great price for quality plastic! If I ever started selling lures, that would be the way to go. Fortunately a gallon lasts at least a year or more if I add a little to reheat used plastic of which I have a ton. Too bad it all looks like watermelon or green pumpkin with flakes!
