robbor
Im going to try making a few, and i wouldnt hurt to hear from someone who has already been there/done that. Im guessing i need to get my hands on some heavier balsa? But i was also thinking of trying poplar for the first one since i can get it from home depot. AZ Fisher
I use Western Red Cedar for my rats, it gives a lively swim. Poplar will work as well, IMHO. Good luck, rats are fun!!

AZ Fisher
2 piece rat body is about 5-1/2 inches long, plus tail and weighs between 1.75- 2.00 ounces. I use Stainless Steel (.092) Muskie hardware from LPO. You can get lips there also. Wicked paint and KBS clear coat. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Plug-Hardware/
jonister
Just an oversized wake bait with some detail. Make sure you weight it so the tail still has action. Try making the bait quite buoyant to start, and add your weight to the front section first. Always swim it before paint and clear coat so it's easy to change up. Also remember heavy woods will require less weight, to achieve a very buoyant bait.
