Mad Moose Baits
Well I have it built. It is spinning at 1200 rpms, so way too fast. The plan is now to put in a dimmer switch to adjust the speed. There is a slight wobble thanks to a slightly bent shaft. But for having no real skills when it comes to building stuff like this I am happy. The machine
Mad Moose Baits
Quick followup: I looked at the details of the motor I used. It will be difficult to put a dimmer switch on since it is a single phace capacitor start motor. That being said I can control the rpm's with the drive pulley size and add an idler pulley to maintain tension.

I am getting married in Augustand taking 18 days off so the planning and paying for said plans have taken over. I haven't quit...just paused.

Masterbaiter88
You could get a vfd off amazon idk it’s voltage of motor but if it’s 110v or 220 v motor but they are less that 100$ you can program the vfd to run at different speeds slower or faster you can program how slow or fast to start like u can program to run desired speed if u want it slower and also set it to take .01 sec to start or up to like 60 seconds to start that way it doesn’t cook the belt and easier on the motor
