You can also trim the outer layer to thin it out The finesse skirting he wasn't doesn't have fine strands, it is the same width as a regular tab but only have as thick. It has the same strand count as the regular skirting but just finer in size. Another source is livingrubber.com but their price is higher. It's a fine cut material that I'm using for my finesse jigs. Same number of stands but different cut. There's also fine cut rubber skirt material at the same site.
