Munro76
Is colure coat ok to use on timber and resin baits? I am trying to avoid buying more paint to paint hardbaits as i already have a range of colours in colure. I will be coating with epoxy after paint. Thanks. Anglinarcher
I assume you mean the Spike-It CoLure paints for soft plastics? That material is designed to adhere to Plastisol, but ........... I suspect it would. I would think that as long as the timber baits were well sealed, and the resin baits clean, it probably would be fine, especially with the epoxy clear coat. Notice that I am not sure, I have never tried it, and it seems like a very expensive paint to use, but if you already have it I would try it.
McLuvin175
It will work although the manufacturer would not recommend it. If your planning on using a paint brush to apply make sure your epoxy is un-thinned or use a solvent like alcohol that wont "lift" the CoLure Coat paint. If your using an air brush the solvent you use wont be an issue. I have a buddy who uses it all the time on hard baits. He likes to have his color palate be consistent from soft plastics to jig heads to crank baits. He uses an air bursh to spray on epoxy.
