Artificial All The Way
I found a couple old buckets of plastic. 500 extra strength and a 548 sitting in my outbuilding. Probably 2 yrs old. What do you think? Can I stir the crap out of it with a paint mixer on a drill or maybe add hardner to use this stuff? Thx Jay
Anglinarcher
I suspect you can. I had some that was over 5 years old, hard packed, a different brand, and I mixed it well and use it still. I got it to test it and moved a couple of times and ...... well, it did get tested. LOL I sure would not toss it out without testing it. I had no need for hardener once I mixed it back up.
Driftwood
I recently found 5 gal of plastic that's about 6 years old. Mix the crap out of it and you should be fine.
alsworms
Agreed. I bought a 5-gallon of LC one time from a guy who said it had been sitting for about 10 years. Took a ton of mixing, but I got it to work!

Does that mean that liquid plastisol is a suspension, and not a solution?

Bogbaits
enjoy that old 500,the new stuff they make isnt even close to as good as that was, they changed the formula, now its not as hard, burns easy and smokes like crazy
Frank
One of the components needed to be replaced and most all of the plastic does this. Not just Lurecraft but most of them. Can’t member which one it is but does not matter if they all can’t get it anymore. Not there fault.
Bogbaits
,I used the plastic for over 10 years everyday so I know the plastic,it changed and is not even close to the plastic it once was, they still advertise It is crystal clear, smokesless and is less likely to scorch when heated properly, not true anymore,I still use it so I'm not really bashing them, just would like to see the truth stated in the description, not talking about any other plastic,Im talking about the lurecraft 500,and it still is a fact no matter who cant get what, its not the same anymore as I stated, who said anything about fault???
Frank
Well now you may have some idea on why it changed. The one I use has changed too but my end product has not.
Bogbaits
Ya I know why it changed,my end product had changed also, need to readjust everything,They didnt tell anyone it changed is my complaint really,in this buisiness you have to keep readjusting when manufacturers change product, would be nice to let customers know I believe
Frank
I agree someone should let someone know. Colors are the same way they change but no one lets you know when it will happen. They could take a little time and repost the description of the plastic a little just for a heads up. Had a guy from Canada text me the other day about the same thing with his plastic, but he bought a large amount of five gallon pails and found it had changed. He was not a happy camper either.
Artificial All The Way
Stirred it up and it works fine. Also found a bottle of hardener from the old stuff. Tested a little in a batch and again, worked as it used to.
