aulrich
So I have a do-it ES Jerkbait on the way, and I would like laminates, I don't think there was a laminate plate for it and if there was the 3" grub mold pushed it off of the toy order :). One method I did find was to put some foil between the mold halfs and after you shoot you have a bait split in half. But I am too lazy to shoot a bait throw out /recycle half, I would rather shoot a split bait and use both halfs in different combinations. So something like this, shoot a split flo yellow laminate the bottom with purple and the top with clear flake. So any other combinations? Frank
so you want to glue them together after you cut? Not really understanding what you are wanting to do. Edited February 16, 2018 by Frank
aulrich
No I plan to shoot the laminate as if I have a laminate plate. The plastic flows on both sides of the foil and you end up with two usable half’s i will post a link to the process when I get to a computer
Frank
Ok I get it I get it you want to make two sides at a time then mix and match them. Getting a good bond is the only challenge doing it that way.
MonteSS
A good bond with that mold is difficult around the hook slot.
aulrich
Not having the mold or any real experience, but I would have though the bond would be better where the plastic was thinner. Thinking it would be thinner and more likely to re-melt.
Frank
You would think so but the plastic looses a lot of heat when thin and it could not bond just because of the lack of heat.
aulrich
Oh darn, I might have to get a dual injector
wallyc14
I have the mold and have to use the double barrel injector because they don’t like to stick well with a lam plate
