Walking Dead
How are you guys storing your jig hooks when not pouring them? Just moved to lower Alabama and I will be storing them in the shop inside the garage. Very humid and I have concerns of rust and corrosion. walleyeking
I keep mine in the plastic ammo boxes. They have an rubber air right seal and are cheap. You can even throw in a desiccant pack if you think you need it.
Bamafan2277
I've got a bunch of the desiccant packs that I can ship ya. I get them with my medicine and have a good hand full.
Jig Man
I keep them in the original container be it cardboard or plastic. I have hooks that have been in the garage for over 10 years. I've never had rust problems and we get pretty humid in the summer.
BLT
Same as J-Man, in original box. Never had an issue.
LimpNoodle
What finish is on the hooks? Here in North Texas I might get some rust spots on a few bronze hooks out of a box of 1000. If you're worried about it get some ZeRust tabs and put in with them.
Walking Dead
Thanks guys. I will give this first summer a shot in the original boxes. I will keep a close watch. Just had a concern with the salt air being fairly close to the bay and saltwater.
basskat
My local drug store will keep those little desiccant packs for me. One day and you'll have more than you can use in months!
basscatlildave
I’ve lived here all my life and the little desiccant bags work great. Also a light mist of WD40 will do it too. 1
