Heating Plastic With Shooting Star

For those of you using the shooting star machine, how are you heating your plastic? Are you heating in the microwave and transferring? Or heating in the machine itself? If you are heating in the machine, how long does it usually take?

Shooting Star is just a set of heated pots and a hand injector, machines will use heat exchangers to heat the plastic rapidly. 

 

Heat it in a micro and transfer, much more efficient time wise

I usually heat in the pot then use microwave to add more until i change colors. I have the mini and takes about 45 - 55 min to get to shooting temp from cold. You can do it in about 20 minutes by transferring from micro though keep in mind it’s the mini. The full size SS will still take while to fill using the microwave. I also usually have a lot to do while I wait so there’s no sitting and watching temps rise lol.

Good to know. I can be packaging baits during that hour or so if heating time. Thanks for sharing.

I cook in micro first then transfer to mini shooting star which is preheated.
