WidowMaker
Would it be possible to use some of the RTV Silicones to alter a Do-It mold. Such as using the RTV Silicone to fill in the collar section of the cavities in an arky type jig mold. I have a request for some hair jigs and would prefer to tie directly to the shank of the hook. Im not too familiar with the RTV Silicones. Are they two part formulas (containing a catalyst) or single part formulas. Is the material expensive.....if so how much. Richoc
If it is just a small order..... I would just use a larger gate cutter to remove the collars. Just pinch it in and spin it in the cutter till it cuts to the hook. Then turn the cutter 90 and cut off the collar. Be cafe not to ruin the cutter, buy cutting at the hook wire. I do not know if the RTV would stay stuck, with out cutting in to the mold to make a way for it to hold. Epoxy putty would work but for how long is the ? And might not come out as clean in the end when you are done. If you have the ball collar on that model , just tie to that, it works just fine. Mr B
A friend of mine used "Bondo" to fill in the areas he did not want ot use. ie, Weedguard, Collar etc. It seemed to work well. And it could be removed later if needed. Mr B
Mattlures
I have used clay to fill in were the weed gaurds go. Then i just clean it out when done. I like the bondo idea but I would use a mold release so it could be removed easily
