mrdj487
I am just getting into Air brushing Walleye Blade's For Walleye Rigs.. I am a little confused on what to use for the best top/seal coating. There's so many different things out there.. So what works the best for blades and spoons? BobP
I second 21XDC. A moisture cured urethane is the best choice. Dip it, hang it up, and you get a very durable, thin, clear topcoat that will not chip or compromise the action of a blade bait.
Chuck Young
A moisture cure urethane gives you a much thinner coat than epoxy, and a much more durable coat than laquer. It should not interfere with the action of your blades. So make that 3X

21xdc
I use air brush paint, folk art etc... I do not use KBS paint. I just bought from their web site.
DaBehr
I use CS Coatings Lure and Jig Coating. Easy to use, Durable. Some really like the UV coat. I use it on Walleye baits. You can "dip and drip" or carefully brush it on, it doesn't take much. http://www.csipaint.com/products/uv-fishing-lure-paint/uv-blast-clear-seal-coat.php Is KBS "better"...yes...but I find it a royal PITA. I prefer the KISS principle!
BBK
If for personal use, you can use anything that cures hard and protects the paint. Blades dont usually get banged up, at least mine dont... So I dont worry about kbs or epoxy on mine. I use hard as nails clear nail polish, or a basic aerosol spray clear. If you use the spray you cant store with plastisol lures, not sure why you would though. If you are selling, absolutely kbs them.
mrdj487
After dipping in the kbs, how do you keep it from pooling up at the bottom of the blade and causing like a bump. Dapping, brushing the pool? What works best?
21xdc
A few min after it's hanging, take a piece of cardboard and bump the drip and it will go away. Some use a piece of wire hanging off to let the drip roll down.
