badhatharry
Hey all, new guy here. I have recently started painting my own glidebaits due to the obscene prices they get for them. My question is, how do you handle the semi-soft plastic tails and fins that sometimes accompany these baits? I have several plastic dies but the selection of colors is very limited. I use mainly Createx and Wicked paints...will these work for this, assuming I clear coat over the entire bait? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. BobP
If the question is how to color a soft plastic tail, I think you have to dye it. If you paint and topcoat it, the finish will come off pretty quickly and you also lose any tail pliability with a topcoat, so you might as well have made the tail out of a hard substance.
Jonah
The few that I painted, the tail is a pale yellow color to begin with so I just left it alone.
capt mike
Spike it co lure paint. Made for soft plastisol. Airbrush or paint brush. Has a Clearcoat as well. Or dip it in hot thin plastisol for a clear coating. Water based paint.
