Lucid_Vax
I have a giant bottle of non-tarnish gold colored glitter but I don’t know if I can use it. Can I? Do I need a certain kind? Please help! Thanks in advance!
Driftwood
Yeah, craft store glitter tends to curl, bleed, and fade when heated. Personally, I wouldn't use it if that's where it came from.

mark poulson
If it's metal it may be a problem in a microwave. Ask the manuf. if it's microwave safe. Most of the glitters I see on plastisol suppliers websites are polyester.

SpoonMinnow
You'll know if it's incompatible with a microwave if it bleeds and shrinks besides the catching on fire thing, blackening the plastic.
Les Young
Add it after you have your colored plastic heated & ready to go. I have had some craft store glitter that done fine doing it this way. I also have had some that when i added the glitter it was red, but when demolding it was gold. Buying the right stuff to begin with is the best, but you aren't risking a microwave fire by adding it after heating to see if it will work & you can come up with some different looking baits easily too. I will say though that i haven't used anything, but lureworks glitter or colorant in quite a while too. .
