jkobrick3
Hey I'm getting ready to build my first fly rod. I have a great dark green blank and I'm wondering is there a translucent guide wrap I can use or if I get a dark green thread will the blank show through after I apply the flex coat? Any suggestions for thread brand to use would be appreciated. Thank you.
Musky Glenn
Usually white thread will show the blank. Try a small area to see if it will work. Size A thread is more transparent.

Tuna
Mix a bit of denatured alky to your epoxy over silk thread to make them really clear. Make sure to touch up ground black guide feet prior to wrapping.
