Elf
I've seen at least 3 mold companies that make mold copies of the One Up Shad. Is it safe to make that lure and sell it as long as we don't call it a One Up Shad? Tons of guys make Senko's but call them something else, like Stick Baits, or Stogies etc etc Edited September 27, 2018 by Elf
bryanmc
The word "senko" copyrighted, but the bait is not patented. You can make an exact copy of the bait, but you can't call it a senko. Not sure about the status of the one up shad, check a legit pack for patent or copyright info.

Great idea on checking the package for patent information. I'll do that.
MonteSS
Never heard of it. Looked it up and it's a Japanese bait. https://www.amazon.com/Sawamura-Oneup-Green-Pumpkin-Peppar/dp/B004ZWUB4Y Just make it. Doesn't look like anything special to me. Looking at the baits in your link and then the ones in this link, they aren't identical anyway. I'm probably going to buy a couple of molds from this Ukrainian company and see how they do. http://baitmold.com/plastic-bait-mold/soft-plastic-bait/aluminum-mold-v238-3-75-inch-95-mm/
