cheesehead Posted October 23, 2004 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 Trip. c, To get the black scale lines use a black base coat the wrap your lure in netting spray on your top colors then remove the netting. you can get the netting at most fabric stores. BassNator 1 Posted October 25, 2004 Report Share Posted October 25, 2004 You are correct Black is the Base Coat. Water based paints come in 2 basic types. Transparent and Translucent. Transparent colors show the color underneath it. Translucent do not. So a Translucent color is used on top of the black with the netting that cheesehead mentioned. out2llunge Posted October 25, 2004 Report Share Posted October 25, 2004 Jed, On some of your bigger muskie baits you might want to try athletic bags (the bags that hold like 20 footballs for gym class), pinnies (the new alternative to shirts and skins), laundry bags (for the ladies delicates).
