Spoonfisher
Thanks for adding me to TU. I wonder if anyone can give me advice about how to properly finish a small, lightweight 1.3" x 0 .75" aluminum spoon body for flies? Specifically I wonder what painting/dipping technique to try to get a very glossy gold metallic finish on the shaped aluminum and then how to properly seal the body so that it is saltwater fishable and durable. Right now I think it would be best to complete the spoon first and, then after it is painted, epoxied and dried, attach it to a size 2, 4x long stainless steel hook with wire weedguard. Any suggestions/comments/ideas to consider would be greatly appreciated.
