Saltlife94
Best paints to use on lead and can you mix glitter in clear coat when you seal up the paint on the lure.
Jig Man
I like powder paint on lead. If I want glitter I just buy clear nail polish that has glitter in it. Also there is not need to seal up the paint if you powder coat then bake the lead. But if you are talking about bucktail baits you will have to paint and bake before you put the bucktail on. mark poulson
Cadman turned me on to Rustoleum Etching Primer for lead. I spray whatever I want to paint the day before, so it has a day to cure, and then I can paint the lead (spinnerbaits in my case) with Createx, and then top coat with clear nail polish. Spray it outside, or with a fan behind you toward an open door, because the fumes are nasty.
BBK
I use regular rustoleum primer for base coating. I dip batches of 100-200 at a time usually. Then I just paint with various water based acrylics and clear coat. Pretty much just like a small crankbait. Some clears you can mix the glitter in, others you can't. Since I use the same clear for all of my baits, I don't add glitter to it. If I want glitter on something I will put down a layer of clear nail polish and sprinkle the glitter in where I want it. The polish holds it on well, then clear coat as normal. 1
