tsmith29040
First post. I have done a ton of reading but couldn't find the answer. First time using Devcon epoxy and when it arrives the red bottle has an amber hue to it. Is this common or going to prevent the epoxy from being clear when mixed? Thanks for any advice. BobP
The red bottle is the hardener and it normally has a light amber hue. As it ages on the shelf, it will get darker. When mixed with the resin, the amber will be less conspicuous and applied in a thin coating on a lure, it virtually disappears. But yeah, epoxy almost always has a slight amber hue to it.
tsmith29040
Bob thanks a ton. I was about to return it and go a different route but I think I will give it a shot.
cadman
I use Devcon 2 Ton epoxy, and the slight amber hue doesn't affect any paint. The only difference I see is when I put the epoxy on an all white bait. It isn't as white as it should be, other than that I love Devcon.
