CarverGLX
For those of you that do throughwire on small cranks, how do you keep dipable topcoat or epoxy off the eyes/hangers? Thought maybe an oil based film or petroleum jelly but don’t want that anywhere near epoxy for the same reasons.
BobP
I ignore finish on the hangers and line tie until the topcoat is hard, then zip it out with a micro drill bit in a Dremel tool. As far as 3D eyes go, I coat them with topcoat in order to reinforce the weak cement they come with. I paint eyes on baits 95% of the time and it’s not an issue on those.
ravenlures
I heat the eyes but a tiny drop of super glue first. Try this after dipping use a old airbrush and just blow out the hook eyes works for me, it might take a couple of times. Wayne
