Working to mimic a snagless Sally Bait, having brain cramp on how to add the wire weed guard. Any ideas on an off the shelf part would be very helpful and appreciated

Not off the shelf, but they’re pretty easy to make just with a pair of round nose pliers and some stainless leader. Bend a piece double. Then where you bent it, grab the bent end and bend it a bit more than 90 degrees. There’s your “part”. Tricky part is getting it on the hook without distorting it.

Take a trick from fly tying and use stainless steel leader material. Attach one end near the eye of the hook make a loop a little wider than the hook and attach the other end to the bottom of the hook shank. 

I have been using this trick for single hook spinners and flies for years. Even heavy mono can work but has a short life span

Here’s a pic that shows the bend you need to make. It’s just a double spinner rig. Just leave off the spinners and loop ends:-)

Growing up we fished a lot of Sallys. We always cut that wire off and fished it right thru tree tops and grass no problem.
