Jig Man
A friend of mine has several squaer bill crank baits with the bills broken. He is planning to replace them. What should he buy to make the bills?
21xdc
Probably Lexan http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Lure-Lips/
Jig Man
Thanks. I wasn’t sure if lexan was what was still used. I used to do some bill replacement with it. I will tell him so he can grab a sheet of it when he is ready.
mark poulson
Lurepartsonline sells circut board for making bills. It also works really well, especially on shallow divers. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Lure-Lips-Bills-Bibs/12x12-Fiberboard-Sheets-1-sq-Foot.html
Jig Man
This guy is a professional finish carpenter and cabinet maker. My guess is that he will want to design his own.
DingerBaits
I also sell the bill material. Although I will admit LPO is way more tailored to the hand made stuff. https://dingerbaits.com/12x12-bill-material/
Big Epp
I've heard old CDs work if they are the right thickness for what you[re working on. I haven't tried it yet, but will soon.
poloaman
CD’s are made of polycarbonate the same thing as Lexan. Lexan is just a trade name for the manufacture Sabic for their clear polycarbonate. CD’s are very thin and the circuit board or phenolic board would be much more impact resistant

Old CDs are free, which is a big plus! I wonder if laminating a couple together would help with durability? So far I'm only using it with small baits, say 3-4" or less. I would epoxy together then cut or stamp the shape. Then finish with another coat of epoxy.
