Big Epp
I've read about making casting spoons from silverware, and I suppose you could also make jigging spoons from silverware handles. Would you need to do anything special to prevent the hook hanger and line tie from tearing out of the spoon on a big fish? (Big meaning 5-6lb northern pike, so not all that big, but you get the idea). I made one that looks really nice from a spoon handle, but am concerned the metal might snap where I put the split ring for the hook. Any tips for this sort of thing? What sort of material do you guys use for making spoons on a tight budget (I'm not looking to get into pouring lead at this time)?
Kasilofchrisn
Look up the videos from forum member Diemai on YouTube. He's got a lot of videos on making various spoons. I believe he lives in Germany hence the accent that he has. there are also a lot of other videos they're on spoon making including making spoons from kitchen spoons. Big Epp
Thanks; I've watched some of his other videos on making wooden plugs, and have been very impressed with his work and instruction!
