ksgoosekillr
I keep seeing more and more ice fishing jigs( tunsten) that have 3d dots so to speak on their surface. Its almost like they are painting a tungsten jig then taking epoxy to create the dots/pimples on the surface of the jog then painting those as well. Anyone have any insight into how they are creating that?
mjs
I think it is with powder water. Powder water mixed with powder paint and then dotted on with a drill bit or something else. I don't know if I like the look, but I'd use them if they worked better.

ksgoosekillr
ok i researched powder water, and it looks like Columbia coatings mixes with powder paint to form a liquid powder paint that can then be baked? But how would that allow a guy to make raised bumps on a jig such as this one:
mjs
I've never done this so hopefully someone with real knowledge will chime in, but I'll take a guess that if you make your mix kinda thick, less liquid, you can achieve this effect? I bit of heat set to keep the drops in place while you work around? The prices on these things indicates they take a while to make...

Jeff Hahn
Never saw a jig, let alone an ice jig, like those. Is that what you use to catch the famous Bill Engvall Dork Fish!
Biggz Jiggd
I just put a bead of paint/nail polish on a toothpick and then dot onto the jig body. Let it dry good and then seal coat them.
swimb8s
It's UV resin , I found some at Hobby Lobby they are in little bottles and different colors , can be found in the bead section mixed in with beading tools . I will take pictures and post on Monday

swimb8s
This was four colors in a package , The Loon torch was not included . The pink has seperrated and the orange is becoming seperrated to , tried shaking didn't seem to help. This stuff sets up really hard and tack free . The colors are would pop a little more if I would have put a clear coat on but it was just an example to show you Think it's a close match ,
