mark poulson
I read on another forum that a guy there uses a concrete sealer, mix one part to three parts water based paint, to make his paints waterproof, without the need for a clear top coat. He says it results in a matte finish that isn't very durable when fished, but he said it is waterproof. Has anyone here tried this, or something similar? If it isn't durable how can it protect a wood lure from water intrusion would be my main concern. Will be interesting to see if anyone has used it as the matte look does come up with some at times. DingerBaits
durability is what guys look for. Doubt it would hold up. As for matte finish, clear your bait as normal, scuff it up and spray some rustoleum Matte clear over top. The matte finish will eventually wear off, but the regular finish underneath it should be good still.
