Createx 4050 Clear Coat and Candy 2o

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Was curious who is going to be pre ordering or buying the new Createx 4050 Clear Coat. From some reading they are trying to compete with KBS as a new dip and hang clear coat that is super shelf stable and can be stored like paint. If the end result is as good as KBS with that ability, that would be incredible IMO

Also was curious everyone thoughts on the Createx Candy 2o paints. I have an opportunity to get 5-6 slightly used bottles pretty cheap but did not know how they preform or what the general thoughts were. I currently use Createx paints, have to reduce the pearls, and Wicked Detail, these I do not reduce.

Thanks!

I'm interested to see this new finish.  More products for us lure makers are always exciting.  Sounds like they will have gloss, and a flat/dull option as well.

As far as the Candy paints, I do not have experience.  But, the paint jobs I see from the guys using Candy colors are amazing.  The colors are so vibrant!  Sounds like you have to seal the baits with 4030 or something like that so it doesn't bleed.

stuff brushes on well, and dries to a matte like gloss if that makes sense. BUT....it doesnt hold up well under water. Even after the 5 day cure, a quick 15 minute soak in water makes it easy to scratch the paint off to the blank.

Might try to spray this and use it as a mid coat before using KBS.
