Saffie
For the guys that dip your baits to clear coat them, how do you add glitter to your baits. Do you have a jar with glitter and clear in it already? Thanks for the help.
azsouth
I have one with glitter but the problem that I ran into over and over is glitter will sink, so you have to stir to get it to suspend which adds fine bubbles to your finish which in turn you have to dip 2 more times to get a good smooth finish. Not to mention sanding between glitter coat and finish coat. My .
21xdc
I use small glitter and a large airbrush, Or pour needed amount of clear and mix glitter in separate medicine cup before I brush on. Then dip the next coat in clear only.
Saffie
Thanks for the advise. I have been using the DK clear in cups with a brush. Started using the dip method recenlty with Concrete sealer and was not sure how to add glitter to the baits.
mark poulson
I mix my fine glitter into some Createx transparent base, and then brush it on where I want it. Dry with the hair dryer and dip.
Saffie
I like that idea. Thanks Mark. Just got some of the AC1315 and really like it for dipping. Been using Dick Nite's for years and the new clear brings new things to learn. Edited February 2, 2020 by Saffie

Been using Dick Nite's for years and the new clear brings new things to learn. Just remember that the AC1315 will melt if left in contact with a soft plastic lure for more than 30 minutes. I think the softener in the plastic is also a solvent for the AC1315. I keep them separate on my boat's deck. If I want to use a soft plastic worm as a tail on a rat bait I've made and coated with AC1315, I put a layer of clear nail polish around the point of attachment, and it prevents any problems.
