TomR
Hello lure builders! First, I want to say thanks everybody for sharing your ideas and secrets on this site. Here’s a picture of a few Baby Torpedos I recently finished. I haven’t made any baits in nearly 30 years. I’m just getting back into it. Not the best paint jobs, I know, but I learned a lot.I built these because I know they catch fish. I’ve had great luck with this lure on largemouth bass. I’m looking for other lure patterns to build which you’ve had success catching fish too. Please share. Thanks in advance! Tom
Hillbilly voodoo
You don’t need a design just start experimenting. There is so many lures that will successfully catch fish your options are truly endless. It’s more a matter of your fishing style and your personal skill level That said a shallow diving minnow style crankbait comes in pretty handy and are really not hard to build. Carve a body that fits your liking, cut a lip slot, weight it slightly nose down and try different lips till one fits your desired action. This is the basics anyway To me lure building is about creation not duplication so I say let your imagination run wild and see what you come up with. Just one mans outlook on things I bet the fish don’t care if you’re paint jobs have imperfections Edited February 2, 2020 by Hillbilly voodoo
Big Epp
Paint jobs look great. I don't use an air brush, so I expect some imperfections.
