coastalpredator Posted June 21, 2020 Report Share Posted June 21, 2020 I am having trouble with the dip and hang method for KBS. On crankbaits with a tail hook eye, a drip gathers and hardens around the tail eye. I use a drip wire but the wire gets caught in the drip too. I've even gone as far as using a dry brush to remove excess KBS from around the body and the tail to prevent gathering. Does anyone have any idea about how to fix this problem? Hillbilly voodoo Posted June 21, 2020 Report Share Posted June 21, 2020 I use a cordless drill, side cutters and a file to make it nice and clean. This is with 4 coats of kbs. I used the same process with epoxy clear. I have not hear of any tricks cleaning it off before it dries. I put a drill in my drill press and drill through it then use the sides of the drill like a cutter to enlarge and clean out the hole. Drip wires don't seem to do much except get hardened in the hole.
