Pop
For those using a respirator when cooking and pouring plastics, what kind of respirator are you using. Winter has come to us in the north and I can't leave the windows open all the time. Poured last night and got a bad headache. Don't want to do that anymore. Thanks for your help. madbass
I used to make things out of PVC and the glue for that is really strong. I bought a respirator by AO safety with replaceable cartridges. You want the P100 cartridge, it says right on it what it is intended for. The P100 is for gases like hydrogen chloride, chlorine, etc. It worked good for PVC glue.
nova
I poured for a couple of years with no mask and like you I would get a bad headache every once and awhile. My brother was home from out west on summer and he came into the garage when I was pouring and flipped out.(He worked with chemicals of different types) He made me go to town and buy a full face mask (high end) cost me $325 CDN. The reason for the full face is that if the pyrex explodes your eyes and face will be protected.(this actually happened to me later on). The question for all of us is what are eyes and health worth to you?
BassnG3
When I first started pouring I did not use a mask and all it took was one headache and I went out and purchased a respirator by 3M. I then read some posts where members had experienced pyrex blowing up so I now where safety glasses as well. No more headaches .
