Inline spinner

Recommended Posts

I’m wanting to make some inline spinners size 1/32 and 1/16 oz. no hook just a small quick connect to attach a jig to. What will I need. I’ve never made spinners so I’m starting with nothing. I know I’ll need wire but I have no idea what size or where and what kind of mold I’ll need. Wanting to mold the weight to the spinners if possible thanks for any help or advice.

Just buy a beetle spin from your local bait shop and be done with it . The amount you invest will far out weigh the cost of getting a beetle spin. You'll need a wire forming tool 175 bucks , lure body mold 50 bucks , 1/4 lb of .032 SS wire , 14 bucks , blades 10 cnt  7.99 for quality, SS Swivels come in 50 pack and up 12 bucks , split rings SS 50 pack 5.99 depending on size . Now this is just a sample estimate . But when it's said and done and you pay postage I bet I'm close.

Last I checked the Do-It website has a Hagens wire bender cheaper than most . you will be able to order a lure body mold with it . It is assorted sizes . The wire bender does everything spinner bait wires and inline spinner wires. Have had one for many years.

Also will a bender for spinner baits work. My son was wanting to start making spinner baits. Thanks

Yes you can get a commercial tackle makers that bench mount and work for all wire bending needs. I have one and I think it cost me around $200 CAD

if for just making a few for yourself and you don’t care about pretty a pair of pliers works and you can easily make bending jigs with a chunk of wood and a few nails

it all depends how far you want to take it and spend

check out the lure making parts suppliers online and you will see all kinds of options

I own a Hagen's wire former.

I also own a Twistech and a Twistech magnum.

I'm happy with all of them so far.

I've used the round nose pliers and they are ok if your just making a handful.

But I like the ease and professional look I get from using the wire formers.

If it fits your budget I would seriously consider a wire former.

If saving money was a serious goal I'd have gotten out of tackle making years ago.lol

If I wanted a bender to do some inline and some spinner baits for bass which would you recommend. Thanks

Probably the Twistech.

It will do everything the Hagen's will just $80 cheaper.

I've not heard good things on the Bogs wireformer and it has limited length so I'd avoid that one.

If you lived in my area I'd let you try mine to see for yourself.

But I'm guessing your a long way from Alaska!lol

No bass up here!

Can you use the Twistech to make R bend spinnerbait wire forms?

That's actually a Hagen's wire former.

Hagens markets and sells them on several sights.

You can find them at lureparts online, Barlow's, etc.
