basskat
As the weather finally cools down the striper fishing is heating up. We've had two excellent days this weekend. Saturday we had over 80. Most were in the two - three pound range. This afternoon we had five over 5 pounds and another fourty or so in the two - three pound range. All came off jigging spoons I pour. If want a kid to learn to love fishing carry then stripe fishing when they are scooled up on shad. One final tip, watch for the sea gulls! Tally
Nice!! How deep are you spooning them out of? I'll bet they fought pretty good and was a bunch of fun. Do you ever get any in the 20+ range? Tally
basskat
Most of the fish we're catching are in the 10 - 12 foot range. Some are in the 3 - 4 foot range. We're catching the shallow fish throwing rattle traps. These things really pull your string. The bigger fish are caught below the dam in the boils. I go for numbers on the lake. Ten pounds is about the largest we catch on the lake.
