madbass
Has anyone ever tried using anything generic, like food coloring or Rit dye or anything else, to color plastic? What about glitter/flake? Can you tell I'm new to this? LOL
woodsac
I think we've all tried lots of stuff! About 2 years ago, I was using powdered make up Make sure that whatever coloring you add is not water based!!!!! It has to be oil based or powder or it has a nasty chemical reaction with the plastic. Almost every craft store flake that I have tried is no good. They burn and curl as soon as they come into contact with the hot plastic. GB GONE
Some candle dyes will work but you need to get the liquid dye not the wax!! The wax makes a mess!!! We have a local cndle making place here and I have found some great pearlized colors. Jim Senkosam is your glitter connection!!!
BassnG3
I got a wild hair you know where one time to try using some strained freshly crushed bluberries that I picked that day because the color looked tempting. All I can say is what a mess and no it did not work very well  . I have not tried anything out of the ordinary since that failure. Sometimes you just have to experiment but like the earlier post says make sure it is not water based... BassnG3
