Glueing through wire

Recommended Posts

If you do the CA glue and baking soda (which I think works great), make sure you get THIN CA glue.  Medium or thick just gums up on top, but the thin soaks in much better.  You could also use 5 minute epoxy, here in the states I can get some pretty cheap.  Would love to come fish in Australia some day!

An excellent point!

I do use CA and baking soda to cover by ballast holes, and I learned the hard way about trying to use CA that wasn't thin.  LOL

Yup, I will use 5 minute epoxy, then fill in any imperfections or lead holes with superglue/baking soda, or car body filler (bondo).

If you have a large deep slot and don't want to use tons of epoxy, I will epoxy in the wire (enough to cover the wire), then with some strips of wood, I will mix more epoxy and fill the slot with epoxy and the strips of wood making sure they are completely covered on all sides with the epoxy.

Here is a pic of what I mean:

Hahah, yeah same. I tried to smear it in but my fingers stuck together like you wouldn’t believe.
