D.J.
Has anyone used the plastic gun from Lure Craft? I was thinking about trying it out. I have a couple of baits with protruding eyes and I am trying to figure out the best way to make them a different color than the rest of the bait. GB GONE
I tried it for the same thing...what a mess!!!!! Maybe you can do it better but it was just to much to try to squirt out a little in each spot then put gun aside then pour and then maybe pour another color. Maybe you can get it but I gave up...let me know if you think of another solution. I was inspired by Senkosam's comments and MOJO's baits to use this technique for different eye colors...put glitter in that part of the mold PRIOR to pouring. Its not perfect and it is a pain to put glitter in that little spot (I did it for a lizard bait) but there is a noticeable eye there. Don't have any pictures right now but I will post one over the weekend for you to see. Jim
Mojo
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but isn't that gun just a plain jane hot glue gun? It looks exactly like the $5 glue gun I have. I did a double take on LC's price. Wasn't $25 or something? Yikes!
woodsac
The only difference between their gun and a regular is that is has an adjustable thermostat built in to regulate the temp. It doesn't matter...Don't waste your time :!: :!: :!: It makes a mess, it's unreliable and hard to use. Out of about 30 people that have used it, I've only heard 2 or 3 say they liked it? charkins
I found it about as useful as mammaries on a boar hog! It takes too long to heat up, and it cools before you get it out of the gun. However, if you can make it work, I sure would be interested in knowing how. alsworms
Another negative here. Gave mine away after a week of destroying plastics with it!
RobShaw
Ive been using these off and on now for years. To me, theyre useful is sealing eyes and for other small details. However, they dont last long. I guess its been about 4 years since i last used one. But then again, I no longer go through 5 gallon buckets of plastic like i used to. I also dont make detailed "living eye" baits like i used to since Bass Pro Shops and every other company out there jumped on that band wagon. BigZ
I just buy the little wiggle eyes off of eBay and glue em on with pro soft plastic bait glue, to hell with glue guns.
D.J.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm glad I didn't buy that gun yet I think I will give the glitter trick a go. Thanks again.
