robalo01
I make my own plastisol. I am starting to see shortages in a couple of the main ingredients. One in particular is completely out of stock with all of my suppliers. Anybody else having tis problem?
alsworms
Well I sure can't help you with the answer, but tip of the cap for making your own plastisol! I researched that to the point where I was up nights torturing myself. Finally gave up! Seriously, hope you find your answer because this could be interesting............. robalo01
Apparently it has to do with the Winter Storm in Texas. Production came off line for a couple weeks. I am told they should be back up and running in a couple of weeks.

I was told by a tackle shop owner that went to a show a couple weeks ago that a lot of brands are so far behind that they won't be getting certain baits until october & some not this year because they're trying to catch up. Zoom, berkely & a couple other major brands had several baits that dealers wouldn't be able to get this year. Zoom more than anything else per zoom according to the store owner was going to be effected more than anybody else because they were the #1 selling brand of soft plastics. Guess we'll see. robalo01
The Zoom shortage (and other large US operations) is due to COVID factory shut-downs and reductions. This raw material shortage is much more recent, related to refineries in Texas being shut down due the winter storm. Actually, prices for raw materials came down for a few months prior to this. My larger customers have all been complaining about back-orders with all fishing products except those coming directly from China. In Mexico, retailers have been venturing into private-labeling Chinese Products rather than importing from the USA in the last few months.
