robertjp
Can anybody recommend a way to hold down blades for airbrushing? If I hang them off a nail, the air moves them around so I cant get a good finish. There must be a way to hold them steady and be able to get at all the blade. What does anybody here who airbrushes spinner blades do? Im at a loss. Thanks Bob
Bentrod425
You don't really need to hold down the whole blade as the edge that goes by the clevis really doesn't need to be painted. I use a pair of hemostats to hold on to the tip of the blade near the hole and paint the rest.
Fishin Big
Same here. You might want to try a lower air pressure. But you may need to thin the paint a bit.
smalljaw
I use the wooden food skewers you can get at most grocery stores. I put the sharp end in the hole and then push the blade onto the skewer hard enough that it will stay put but is still easy to take it off.
Fishermanbt
I use hemostats, Helping Hands like used for soldiering, or just an alligator clip. All clipped at the top of the split ring hole. If painting steel blades a magnet bar will help too.
Munkin
Harbor Freight makes a magnet that is meant to hold tools by screwing it to the wall. Allen
Big Epp
My first thought was the small, rare earth magnets. They are really strong and might do the trick.
