Jaxon2
Anyone have experience with the live bait jig mold from do it mold. The one with the eye for a stinger hook. Interested in what people use for hooks in it. The short shank 570 hook seems too small. The biggest I can find is 1/0. Anyone tried the eagle claw little nasty hooks? Or any other suggestions? cadman
A EC #570 will fit in that mold. You can also use the Mustad equivalent, or use BLN hooks which are better in my opinion over the bronze hooks. I will have to check if the Lil nasties fit, tomorrow. Jaxon2
Thanks Cadman! What's the BLN hooks? Have a model number to reference? Plan is to use these jigs for walleye. The eagle claw works fine unless a person hooks into a wiper then they destroy them.

EC 570 and 571 are bronze aberdeen hooks and will rust quickly if they are not let to dry thoroughly. The BLN hooks have a much more rust resistant finish, because they are plated. Also the BLN hooks are a bit stronger than the bronze hooks. Mustad makes them#32746 and so does EC #L3052. I would get the EC#l3052, they are excellent quality, Made in U.S.A. and are cheaper in price. I will check on those Lil' Nasties (fit) tonight when I come home from work. Eagle claw also makes a 570H. The H stands for heavier hook. I will look up all of this tonight and let you know. You have a PM from me.
